This is a carved and engraved shell gorget. It is made from conch shell. Notice the spider in the center. Gorgets like these are found from Georgia to east Texas. Most of them are found in two places; Tennessee and eastern Oklahoma at Spiro. Quite a few of them have been found in Caddoan areas of Texas.
